A Little Bit Of History ~ Part 5

Following the series about a child's diary found in our loft, this is the next section of Derek's diary.

25th JUNE 1956
WIMBLEDON
Man and women from all over the world have come to London to play tennis.  They will find out who will win.

12th JULY 1956
OUR SCHOOL EXCURSION
On our school trip we went to York and walked on the walls.  We split up into two parts and went to different museums.  I went to St Mary's museum.
We went to Brimham rocks, Stump Cross Caverns and Knaresborough where we saw Mother Shipton's Cave.  There you can hang things up and after years they become stone.

20th JULY 1956
SPORTS DAY
Our school sports were held at the cricket field.  The infant school joined us and the children from Ellerker.

And that is the end of the little diary.
I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have.  And if you are Derek Tutty formally of South Cave and you would like your diary back, then do get in touch.
